SUMMER STAGE IN BUBANJ – PLACE EVENTS IN A CULTURE

In Memorial Park “Bubanj”, on April 1st, workers of PUE “Nisstan: started works on reconstruction of amphitheater of Summer Stage which will after completion, already this summer, will be an environment in which will took place city manifestations. Palilula Municipality parallel with this project works and on arrangement of access paths and playgrounds, what will to entire Memorial Park give a new – beautiful look. That was occasion that management of Palilula Municipality and signatories of protocol of realization of the project of reconstruction visit Memorial Park “Bubanj”.

“Our initiative – to reconstruct summer stage on Bubanj, with capacity of around 3000 seats, unanimously accepted on the Council of “Film Festival” and we are delighted to have support of  members of Council from Association of film actors in Belgrade, said Prof. Dr Igor Novakovic, President of the Council of the Festival and President of City Municipality of Palilula. Our idea was that and after 45th Festival leave to the city something valuable, this time right on the territory of Palilula Municipality, what specifically means to us, because with this we will round up the activities that are mediated on arrangement of Memorial Park “Bubanj” (until now is settled around 70 hectares of Memorial Park).

According to Srdjan Savic, director of NKC and director of the Festival, it was continued tradition that part of sponsors money is invests for some lasting value for the city. In that way last year arranged Cinema – Cabin, that was in terrible state, purchased a high quality canvas for film projections in the Fortress. Because the projects themselves (whose procurement was also planed) extremely expensive – it was decided to invest in the arrangement of the space -  Summer Stage on Bubanj, which we will be extremely attractive for conducting part of following programs of Nis` Festival but and other programs in culture of the city. On this way, said Savic, will part of happenings on 46th Film Festival relocate “from the center”, as it has once been the practice.

Director of PUE “Nisstan”, Slavoljub Vlajkovic,  expressed satisfaction that in this business is engaged city public enterprise and he said that the contracted works be completed within deadline, until the beginning of November. “We expect and work that Summer Stage receipt first artists in culture during summer months. This space which was once a popular resort of people from Nis today is demolished. Vandals for years almost every night destroy all that can be destroyed, they even suffered a concrete seats in Amphitheater around which can be found scattered all drug syringes and needles. All installations is pull out, so it will be in need complete reconstruction, highlighted director Vlajkovic”.

Amphitheater and Summer Stage on “Bubanj” will get new chairs, electricity, water and an ordered stage with big film screen. Most of the necessary means of two million and 500.000 RSD has already secured thanks to the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self Government and to the sponsors of “Film Festival”. “This is really only one, a significant portion of funds, needed for reconstruction of memorial complex. As city municipality, we compete to European Commission, for support for arranging of this sport-recreational and memorial complex” – said President of Palilula Municipality, Prof. Dr Igor Novakovic.
